First Year of Pre-Journalism Done!

My first year of University is done! At the conclusion of next year, my second year in the pre-journalism program at the University of Regina, I will be able to apply for the School of Journalism.

Though it is time for a well-deserved brake, this does not mean I plan to stop writing articles during the summer.

My part-time job at the Regina Leader-Post resumes in June, but I am also writing several freelance articles for the sports department. There is going to be one article on the Prairie Midget Baseball League, stock car racing, Canadian baton twirling (my favourite), a local golfer/organizer and a piece on the Regina Pats spring camp.

I also plan to continue writing online frequently. I will be writing a column titled "A Canadian Man's Fantasy" for the new CFL fantasy football site, http://www.fantaseh.ca/. Also, with the CFL season drawing closer, I will continue with my general CFL work for a couple of sites.

Finally, I am also going to be the volunteer sports editor for the U of R's campus paper, The Carillon, for the two summer issues (one in May and July). I am hoping to become the full-time sports editor in the fall, so I am hoping this experience will prove helpful.

Seeing as this is the inaugural post of this site, I should explain what it is all about. On this site, you will be able to view most of my journalism work. The print section will display my work for the Leader-Post, the Carillon and the Paramount Perspective (Greenall High School's paper). The online section will showcase my CFL work and other columns.

Enjoy the site!
